Enthucutlets in the hindu today!

The saying goes - it's the mundane that becomes your becoming... Five years of toil, some months of no action, and after plenty of order and few memorable connections later..... Enthucutlets Got featured.

Thank you everyone who have likes us, bought from us and encouraged us. Thanks to friends - Namrata, Vrinda, Jay, Prachi, Vinay and host of many others for supporting and keeping the faith. To family for not asking me to do the regular stuff and stay calm while I went hopping mad during bad days.

It just gives more fuel to a journey that still have miles in it.

Support Nature, support natural.

People age, trees wither, leaves brown, flower droops, fruits perish, stones get washed away, clouds melts to rain, oceans into water vapor…..nature has a way to welcome the new-  degeneration and regeneration. All thing with life has a cycle… from pink to pale that is how we know it.

But with booming technology and industrialization, in the name of science we are living the concept of durability like never before…. plastic one of the biggest inventions - convenient, cheap, long lasting but it comes with grave consequences.
There's no need to rant about landfills and non degradable waste… as each of us can make a difference no matter how small.

We at enthucutlets believe it's a matter of time and perspective, lets first observe and admire all things natural, agree and accept the natural ways…. we are but part of nature and it's in our best interest to return to nature's bounty and the beauty it offers.

Natural Colour Dyed Banana Fibre Boxes
Banana fibre boxes are made with dried banana stem, banana plant dries up once it fruits, in the malnad region and the surrounding area of the western ghats in karnataka locals found use of these dried stem as a natural fibre with fair tensile strength and longevity.

Once the fibre is separated, dried and made starch free, it can be used in variety of ways. they can also be twined into ropes by simple spinning.

We all need storage at home…functional to be the least. Choosing responsibly can make a diffrence.  Banana fibre boxes are made using duct tapes and cardboard leftover and recycle paper.
These boxes are suitable for all kind of dry storage. We use organic colors to stain these boxes. Indigo for blue, palash for orange, turmeric for yellow, tea/coffee stain for browns and sepia tones and beetroot for pink.

The use of machine is restricted to cutting, all the boxes are assembled by hand. Thus providing employment to a small number of rural population. The boxes comes in 3 different sizes they are durable and can be used for all kinds of storage requirements.

You have the power to choose, make that small difference….

I am Fearless

http://bonifisheii.blogspot.in
Shilo, a visual artist who has been remarkable in bringing a whole lot of artist together for causes. I did a doodle after watching the gulabi gang documentary about woman clad in pink finding ways to get some order and respect among the men in their village in Bundelkhand.
Watch the youtube video here…

I feel it's a great initiative to connect with woman coming together from all social background. Giving voice for millions of Indian woman is emotionally very significant. It's a leap of togetherness and solidarity to bring about social justice and equality.
Art with a purpose… refreshing!

Smell of fresh paint and glue

So some text have been creeping up in my work…. in the books and journals and everything I am doing. As I sat to make some fresh pegs and was sanding the wood I was transported to my childhood days, at home I have this mounted poster with a leopard staring, it reads 'You observe a lot by Watching' and it's the most inspirational quote of my life, and so I though of passing it on... writing it out, with some stare-able goobeys (Owls) who are know to be wise as they are good observers.

My next quote I thought of writing was about happiness which is becoming ever so elusive from our lives. "Happiness" is a mindset and sometimes a decision…. it is within our reach as most of the time it is a matter of perspective.

Here are some pegs I worked on mostly for my love for happy animals, inspirational words of my childhood and the my love for the home cooked food.
Next few months I have some new designs is to be tried and tested on wood and paper with more color and new thoughts.

We cannot teach children art

My tryst with my 4 yr old gives me something new to chew on almost everyday….This is about art.

I always loved art but it took me quite a while to get in good terms with it. I find my 4yr old un-bashfully painting his books green, red and blue. I wondered.... It was not what he did... BUT HOW he did it! It takes some courage to pick up a brush and the more we get older the fearful we become.

So at the end ( or rather the beginning) it's the attitude not intent or content that matters most in art.
Children have the ability to inspire themselves mostly during play…. their interaction with their environment is crucial during the formative part of their life. Giving them a conducive environment thus becomes extremely crucial.
Thus the idea of just setting up a space for them to explore…. play…and be!
I am venturing into letting children spend some time in my studio and express themselves…. Hoping some magic will take it course :)
